چکیده

Primocane raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) may produce crop on the lower part of cane during second year its’ growth cycle, if canes are retained over winter. We aimed to evaluate floricane cropping potential and berry quality in seven primocane cultivars, which too late for fall Northern growing conditions. Long plants these cultivars were produced, overwintered, grown like a high tunnel. Harvesting started mid-June, length summer season was between eight 10 weeks. 'Joan J' 'Imara' earliest 'Autumn Bliss' latest. Total yield most 1.7 2.0 kg/cane. ‘Autumn Treasure’ yielded significantly less, Bliss’ produced 2.5 kg berries /cane. The average size 5 g, except Treasure’, had smaller berries. highest sugar content observed 'Kwanza' lowest 'Polka'. High throughput phenotyping proved an effective tool determining shape color. ‘Kwanza’ color reddest, yellowest lightest all cultivars. Based our results, as long production is more reliable than them short ‘Imara’ ‘Kweli’ promising experiment; they excellent quality.

Physiology of flowering and dormancy regulation in annual- and biennial-fruiting red raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) – a review

Recent research on how the structure and physiological development of red raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) plants are controlled by genotype and the climatic environment is reviewed. Some older work, especially on plant structure relations, is also included. Physiological differences between annualand biennial-fruiting plant types are highlighted. One major difference is the different requirements f...

Development of a multiplexed microsatellite set for fingerprinting red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) germplasm and its transferability to other Rubus species

This study aimed to develop a standardised and cost effective protocol for fingerprinting red raspberry germplasm using microsatellite (SSR) markers. Twenty SSRs well distributed through the raspberry genome were screened on 16 genetically diverse cultivars to assess polymorphism, allele size range, quality of amplification, ease of scoring, and discriminating power (DF). We selected published ...

Ellagitannins from Raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) Fruit as Natural Inhibitors of Geotrichum candidum.

The paper presents the chemical characteristics of ellagitannins isolated from raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) fruit and their in vitro and in situ antifungal activity against Geotrichum candidum ŁOCK 0511. The study investigated a complex preparation containing various raspberry ellagitannins at a concentration of 86% w/w, as well as pure lambertianin C and sanguiin H-6. The ellagitannin preparati...

Nonsense Mutation Inside Anthocyanidin Synthase Gene Controls Pigmentation in Yellow Raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.)

Yellow raspberry fruits have reduced anthocyanin contents and offer unique possibility to study the genetics of pigment biosynthesis in this important soft fruit. Anthocyanidin synthase (Ans) catalyzes the conversion of leucoanthocyanidin to anthocyanidin, a key committed step in biosynthesis of anthocyanins. Molecular analysis of the Ans gene enabled to identify an inactive ans allele in a yel...
